DA Reports Six People Suing Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority for Loss from Bus Accident They Were Not Involved In

Sam Wood, Inquirer Staff Writer at Philly.com wrote a great piece that describes the personification of all things broken with our legal and insurance systems. In the story he reports on some quality people who learn about a minor bus accident, but weren’t on the bus. Unswayed, these winners lawyer up and claim injures and all are represented by the same attorney. The combined medical bills for neck and back injuries and pain management totaled $80,000. SEPTA annually pays out about $40 million in claims, a spokesman said. Thankfully, surveillance was being conducted and the scam failed and the participants were arrested.
